A makerspace, simply put, is a community center with tools. Also known as hackerspaces, hackspaces, and fablabs,
makerspaces are creative, do-it-yourself spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn. The purpose of
all makerspaces is to provide access to equipment, community, and education and each one is unique
to its community. Some have 3D printers, editing software, laser cutters, and other cost-prohibitive tools while others,
like those at Palm Harbor Library, have tools and materials for art and crafting.
